The Odeon
It's not hard to understand why The Odeon has been a mainstay of life in TriBeCa for so long. Like watching a repeat episode of Seinfeld, it's comfortingly familiar, classically New York, and, even when you know what's coming next, still deeply satisfying. The menu offers a variety of favorites, from chicken paillard to beet salad, burgers and cheesecake. The cocktails are expertly prepared and the beers are carefully poured. The dishes show attention to detail and the portions are generous but manageable.
The elegant art deco decor of the main room draws the eye, while the front terrace attracts some occasional passersby. The service is friendly and attentive, although after all this time, the place is likely to run smoothly on its own.
