Hidden between two other establishments without any visible signs, Expendio de Maíz invites diners to sit at one of the four long tables located under the covered sidewalk. Although reservations are not accepted, several seats are available and customers put their names on a list for the next round. This innovative concept does not offer a set menu; Instead, each dish is presented as a surprise, one by one, until the diner indicates that they are satisfied. The team impressively prepares a variety of dishes, such as a warm, tender and crispy yellow dough huarache, topped with a thin slice of braised meat, avocado, cherry tomatoes, white cheese and a handful of lightly dressed baby vegetables. It is worth spreading the sauce that accompanies it on all preparations.
